This is the stage where one decides which candidates should be called for interview. When choosing candidates for interview it is important to make sure that Employers do not use criteria that could lead to discrimination on any of the nine grounds in the Employment Equality Acts.
Each application should be assessed in the same way, using clear sifting guidelines and rating system. The guidelines and rating system will assess how well the applicant met the criteria.
The rationale for accepting or rejecting a candidate should be recorded, in line with the guidelines.
